A much younger me and the current me! I’ve been teaching yoga for a LONG time now. 15 years. I’ve also completed thousands of hours worth of training. When you start out, yoga is usually about getting stronger in the body or becoming more flexible – but that’s just the beginning! I always tell my students that yoga is about playing the long game. This is a practice that you want to be doing for the rest of your life. That’s where the true benefits are. While at a physical level, it can keep us healthy & active right into our old age, if you find a teacher with a good bandwidth of training and experience, you’ll realise that yoga is more than just the postures. There are breathing practices, meditation practices, mantra practices and more that can take you so much further. And the potential for self development once you learn how to witness your mind and emotions is huge. You’ll have a lifetime of learning and self discovery in front of you. At 48 I can honestly say that I have never gotten bored with yoga because of all of the different dimensions that it has. It grows with you and can take you as far as you want to go.
